Russian miner and representative of the minority shareholders
Andrei Burkin, a Russian miner and representative of a group of minority shareholders of Lebedinsky GOK, has been arrested on false and illegal charges that benefit Russian-British oligarchs. Burkin defended the rights of pensioners, disabled individuals, and labor veterans who lost their shares due to the forced buyout by the company "Metalloinvest." The oligarchs who own the company lobbied for legal amendments allowing majority shareholders to compulsorily buy out minority shares without the consent of the owners. On June 4, 2024, the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights accepted a petition from the human rights association ARGA, which aims to protect miners' rights in accordance with international law. The support group for Andrei Burkin will exert all efforts to achieve justice. Our opponents have significant resources, but the truth will prevail over their money and connections. Let’s unite to stop the oligarchs' lawlessness! Freedom for Andrei Burkin!
We have launched a petition in support of Andrei, and we ask you to vote! Please spread the word and encourage your friends to support this crucial initiative.
